This is is a 'Ted's Talk video' concerning the strong impact that social media are having on teenagers' life. My students from 2E , 2F and 2G are kindly requested to answer the following questions, in order to profitably share opinions about a very current topic which is constantly affecting our daily life. Thus, after watching the video, please add your comments by focusing on some of the following guidelines :
- Which are the pros and cons about using social media? Give your personal opinion
- Why text messages can prevent people from communicating?
- Despite granting us a fast communication, social media can be considered the main cause of the 'lack of communication' which is typical to the lateat years : comment on this issue
- Why and how can we become 'social addicted'?
- How can parents help children browse the web safely?Which are the rules we should respect?
- How can the social media improve friendship and how can they even spoil it
If the social media are used well, I think that they will have more positive sides. For example they can connect us with the whole world and let us know new things. Instead if they are used badly, they can bring many problems. Among the main there is the lack of communication of pleople who use too much social media anche text messages.In last years, many people prefer to use emojis and messages instead of expressing their feelings or dialogue with their frindes or relatives. This leads to isolation and depression. We will become "social addicted" if we don't be able to stop using social media and we give up our daily activities for them. This is caused by insicurity,timidity or boredon of people. The web isn't a safe place and the parents can download free a "parental control" from any digital store to let browse internet to control way their childrean. Not to become dipendent we must try to use them well and the less possible. Nevertheless they may improve friendship because they can tie even more distant people although sometimes they split it with the spreading of something offensive for our friends from our part.

Although social networks are a tool of social innovation with which people exchange opinions and information, they are used without a complete awareness of the risks they entail. Social networks are spreading more and more because they are means that allow a better socialization with other people, even very distant, being comfortably seated at their desk. However I think they are dangerous because many malicious people hide behind an innocent nick-name, also many teenagers they hide behind the virtual identity, to live the life they would like to have and not the one they really have and that is certainly better than the virtual one.

In my opinion, friendship in the Digital Age is very important. If you are thinking to be friend with a stranger online, that's not a real friendship, he might be a sixty years old man, you can't know that... If you are searching for a Girlfriend online, don't do that... Girls aren't always girls online, they might be boy/old man. I approve all the video, From the face-to-face to the family fact. I really think that social media ruins all communication and friendships. I'm an addicted social media user, I know, my family always shout at me that I need to stop using the PC and go outside, but I think I'm a drug addict with that Computer... I can't stop staying at the PC to play games or go to social media. Do real friendships, not fake.

In my opinion, social media are the best way to be in contact with your friends anytime and anywhere with a disarmingly facility.
RispondiEliminaBut not always social media are used properly. Much times people create fake account to take possession of other identities and to do illecit activities like stalking.
Obviously, like all the technological innovations, there are pros and cons.
A pro is you can be in touch with your friends wherever 24 on 24 and sending fast messages so that we can have a quick speech. A negative thing is you can become addicted from the web and use it too much or more than you have to.
So, to conclude my thought, I say that I'm in favour of tech innovations but them must be used whith the correct terms and rules to form a future civilized society.

In my opinion, social media has completely changed the way people communicate and appear in the world. obviously the social networks have its positive and negative sides, for example they can give the opportunity to make new friends or stay in touch with relatives far from us or still oppose, the fact of being able to express their thoughts. A negative fact that I see is the lack of security in social media, which very often is subject to attacks by network pirates. How can you become a social employee? Quite simply, misusing social media, using them too much and not in a suitable way. I believe that today's parents can do something to protect their children, giving them rules and helping them to understand what is good and what is bad on the web.
